A Walk in the Park

A walk in the park- not exactly - more a quick visit for photos and the park really is only a square- Princes Square in fact. Princes Square is only a few blocks from home and a place that holds many memories both from my childhood and my children's- mainly of me playing in the fountain and then me as the mother preventing the children from falling in.
A little bit of history- the fountain dates from the mid 1850's is from France and may well have come here by mistake - there is some conjecture on this - but some records indicate it should have gone to Launceston in England not Australia.

Reflecting on the future - John and I have decided to travel to Europe later in the year to further explore France, Spain and Portugal- the fun of researching and planning now begins.

Making friends with William Russ Pugh, who was the first doctor to use ether for surgery in June 1847 at St.Johns Hospital in Launceston.

Today's outfit consists of a jacket and pants by Amy Rigg (old favourites ) , they make an appearance every Summer. I purchased these from a friend who lived in the U.S. in the early 90's . They are teamed with suede sling back shoes , also old favourites , and Victoria Spring gold and pearl heart necklace and earrings.( my nod to Valentines Day), vintage flower embossed gloves and a new to me flower adorned hat. I loved the shape of this hat when it crossed my path at Return to Splendour , although I must admit the overblown floral decoration is not really me, it will stay for now as I have promised the owner of Return to Splendour to at least keep it this way for this Summer.
