A Parasol, My Summer Uniform and a River Walk

Enjoying a walk by the river at Deloraine , a pretty little town about a half hour drive from home, wearing my favourite Summer uniform of  black and white and making good use of a painted parasol I found at a local thrift store last Winter.

Today's black and white outfit  consists of an old favourite Moyuru skirt , a white shirt by Tiffany Treloar , an Australian designer , my straw boater and Fly London wedges that I purchased in Lisbon,Portugal in 2016 . Wearable souvenirs , the best kind , memories with every wear.

The river walk is not only a pleasant stroll , there are several art works along the way.The spheres above are made from concrete and resin and have a feather embossed in them and the silver bands contain information about Deloraine .
The one below represents the farmers and mountain men of the surrounding countryside.

I couldn't resist including this one of a Mother Duck and all her ducklings that I took on our back to the car.

  2. Such a striking parasol, and the pictures are full of art and beautiful, restful atmosphere, a bit like watching a nostalgic movie... I love your uber modern outfit with this old-fashioned parasol, and the wedges and earrings add something very special too.

Lovely little ducklings, I adore them when I get to see such cute families myself. :)

Lots of love, dear Jill! <3

    1. Thank you so much Natalia, the parasol is striking , I am rather pleased with it and it was quite a bargain. Now that you mention it I realise I didnt mention my earrings they are cork also from Portugal. I couldn't resist the ducklings and their Mum.

  3. That parasol is fantastic! And it deserves to take the centre stage, with the rest of the outfit providing the perfect backdrop.

  4. Wearable souvenirs are indeed the best kind and what I go for every time too Jill. I love those sandals with just enough pattern to lift them out of the ordinary. And the parasol is the perfect finishing touch - or was it the inspiration for the whole outfit? No matter, it's beautiful!

    1. Thanks so much Anna , the sandals were a great buy , it was the tapestry style pattern that called me.I decided the parasol only needed a simple outfit to show its splendour.

  5. Hi Jill, I've been catching up on your blog posts. I love following you on Instagram, too but of course miss out on the "whole tour" which you present so well. I look forward to visiting some of these beautiful historical places one day myself. I'm sure I've said this before but I love that you wear favourite clothes over and over for your blog - showing that different accessories, even different locations, can make a new outfit. Stay cool, Elizabeth. xx

    1. Hi Elizabeth, Hope you have had an enjoyable Summer. So glad you enjoyed my Tassie tours, if you make it here I would love to catch up. I do appreciate that you love my repeating of favourites, just ringing the changes. This is me and I like my blog to reflect that. I believe some very hot weather is coming your way, so also stay cool Elizabeth. xx

    1. Thank you Theresa, I couldn't resist the including the duck family. I do enjoy a straw boater in the Summer. The parasol was a purchase from a local recycle store in their sale, I love its colours.
