Under the Arches

Today's post is  short and sweet , as befits this busy time of year. These few shots were taken under
the rose arch at the entrance to our house. The roses name is Cherub and I think it describes perfectly
this sweet little rose.

I was on the way to the MG Car Club's Christmas lunch party, which turned out to be a pleasant day full
of catching up with friends , both old and new, good wine and food.

Wearing a longish multi-coloured silk tunic , purchased from my local recycled clothing store, over white
wide legged pants and an orange and aqua bangle and white milk glass beads. It was still a little cool so
I topped this with my white cotton jacket.
Frankly, I am not really sure about this tunic , especially after seeing these photos but it is cool and comfortable so maybe it will stay for this Summer. The joy of the recycled store is at least I have not paid
big dollars so if it is not right no harm done to the budget.

I think the main reason for the purchase is this cerise Charles Jourdan bag that I purchased from the
same store last year with not really a thing to go with it, I just loved the colour and shape.
Maybe, lesson learned don't buy to match the bag.
That's all for now , hope everyone is having a good week and enjoying this busy time of year.

  2. Oh I love the tunic on you, Jill. I can quite see why you bought it because of the bag - gorgeous colour and I love the shape. But I also love the tunnic and the fact that it's what I call shimmering stripes! A very striking effect.

  3. It's great to see you in these soft colours! You look good in your signature black, too, but these colours are just beautiful. And our outfit matches the roses, which is always a plus.

    1. I know these colours are certainly different for me but nice for a change and as you said matched the roses.

  4. Your rose archway is absolutely beautiful. Such a perfect background for that pretty tunic. There's a test rose garden in Portland that I can't wait to see next Spring when it's in full bloom.

  5. Yes, it is a cherubic rose, so sweet and beautiful.
I love the tunic too but if you're not feeling it, what can you do? Would putting a shorter black top on top of it during cooler weather make it more comfortable? Or would that put it into the category of trying too hard? Heh. I've done that too many times.
No matter, these are great photos.

I like your top! It has a nice print and it matches to the bag! Your rose arch is so rich in flowers of a delicate shade of pink...a beauty!

  8. I like that tunic on you, but I know what you mean. I bought a long blue cardigan that is so in fashion right now, but it just doesn't feel like me when I put it on. Oh well :)

  9. That is the entrance to your house? With those roses and that fence to great you as you come and go it's no wonder that you always look so sweet and calm and stylish. As a fellow bob wearer I'm noticing the great cut in the back of your hair. Chic and sassy. :)
