A PEPLUM BY THE RIVER

A glorious late summer day was a good
excuse for a drive and an opportunity to
spend time by the Tamar River in my OBI
watermelon jacket.

My cream, grey and white
 fedora was a must.

As was my favourite bag,
by Spencer & Rutherford ,purchased
many moons ago.

A bracelet and
fake pearls also enjoyed the view.

We discovered
 these cottages along the way.

The back of my jacket
and hat, enjoying the
peace of the river.

I hope you
 have enjoyed seeing a small
glimpse of my part of the world.

BLUE AND WHITE

Today as I posed in my kitchen by the dresser
I reflected on its history..

it was a surprise 21st birthday from John
way before we were married ,

It proudly displays my  blue and white china,
collected from far and wide over many years.,

I enjoy mixing new and not so new, both
in my house and my dressing.

A SPORTSCAR , A SCARF AND A HAT

   The sportscar, a Mazda MX5.

My husband's retirement present
to himself.

The Scarf
         A silk Charles Jourdan

  THE HAT

Purchased in Hobart,at Hello Gorgeous Vintage.

Last week saw my husband, John, and I driving to Hobart,on a
warm, sunny day to swap cars with our son, Zac.

John is about to take off for his annual camping trip and
as great as this little car is it not the car to take camping.

Especially as camping involves tents, kayaks , bikes and
other assorted stuff.

So off we went , a pleasant day indeed , stopping here for
lunch along the way.

This is in Oatlands, one of early colonial towns, with many well
preserved sandstone buildings.

A closer view of my new hat and the scarf.

My idea of a great day, spending time with my husband,
catching up with my son and his lovely partner, an enjoyable
lunch and coming home with a new hat.

GLAMOUR, MY WAY, EVERDAY.

What's In A Name

I was asked recently about how I named this blog.
                             This got me thinking....
Am I grownup, the birthday count says so BUT the playful, naughty
child inside does not. She likes to come and visit often and what fun we
have. Life is altogether too short not to misbehave sometimes.

Now the next part..Am I glamourous....not really , sometimes maybe.
I aspire to be a more elegant, glamourous older woman, will I succeed
who knows , for the moment I will continue to enjoy........

A touch of glamour, my way, everyday.

What I'm wearing; Ted Baker black top
Skirt , thrift shop, many moons age
                                                            Bangels, collected everywhere
                                                            My hat Crochetta

I love this hat it is indeed one of my summer favourites and as my
poor frazelled garden shows, its has been a hot dry summer in my
part of the world, good hat weather not just for style but shade too.

Off to join in the lovely ladies with Judith at Style Crone.
