One Year On

This post for
me is a bit
of a milestone,
I have now been
blogging for
one year.

The blog started
as a prelude to
my 60th. birthday.
A challenge for this
extremely technically
challenged soul, to
learn something new
and if I am honest
to prove to my
family that I could.

Sometimes , as on occasion
was evident , I was not
sure if I was coming or going.

But for me it
was never about the blog
looking perfect or
professional, it never will.

It was to open my eyes
to new things and the
joy of connecting with
like minded women
from all around the
world.

I truly value the
friendships I
have made over
the last year.
The kindness and caring
of the blogging community
is surely the most
valuable aspect
for me.

For this weeks post
I am wearing a skort,
by a Japanese label,
Moyuru.
This is very much
out of my comfort zone
but I love its volume
and flow.

I have teamed it with
a white voile top
worn over black mesh.

I am determined to
leave the safety of
the usual more often.

I have added a
collection of bangles,
an silver flower necklace
and a newly acquired bag
from a local consignment store.

The  vintage black pixie hat
is a rare online purchase
from Ruby Lane.

Taking my hat over
to join with Hat Attack
at Style Crone.

  3. Dear Jill, where do I begin? First, to say Congratulations! So much of what you said, I understand. I turn 60 next year and I started my blog as a creative outlet and to get me out into the world. I'm a timid traveler and reclusive by nature so every step I take and every click of that "publish" button continues to be a growing experience. Love your blog. Hope you have many many more anniversaries.

May we travel this path together , learning about others and ourselves as we go. x

  4. Happy 1st Blogversary, Jill! I am so happy that you started your blog and continued with it. You sure do a great job - your blog space is warm, creative, beautiful and so unique! I started my blog when I just turned 40, and even though I was familiar with blogging (I used another platform though, so there were still things to learn about Blogger), my topics in previous blogs were very different. It takes courage to put yourself out there. I felt lost in terms of my style and doubtful, but just like you I jumped in and found myself (eventually) in a company of wonderful, kind, creative women like YOU! And it has been changing so many things in my life for the better ever since.

I love coming to your blog because of your amazingly creative one-of-a-kind sense of style and more importantly your kind, open, warm personality. This outfit is amazing on you! So unexpected, great forms and silhouette, your favorite black and white color combo and whimsical jewelry, and the hat of course - wonderful, wonderful example of your style! And bravo for trying something outside of your comfort zone! Here is to many more happy and fun blogging years! xxxx
